A MAN was taken to hospital after a cooker caught fire at a home in Shuttleworth.
Firefighters were called to the house in Rock Street, off Whalley Road, shortly after 5.20pm on Monday.
After arriving at the scene, crews found that the cooker had caught fire and caused a 'great deal of smoke' in the property.
Firefighters were at the scene for more than an hour, and used breathing apparatus, hoses, and a positive ventilation fan to make the property safe and clear the smoke.
The man was then taken to hospital by ambulance due to smoke inhalation.
