VOLUNTEERS with Bury Homeless Project will brave the predicted heavy rain tomorrow night and join the homeless by taking part in a sleepout behind Tesco.
Charity spokesman Suzanne Angle said: “The five volunteers have chosen to do the sleepout now so they can truly understand how cold our rough sleepers are. There’s no point sleeping out in the summer months.”
They hope their efforts will help raise awareness of the plight the homeless face.
Bury Homeless Project offers support and compassion to the town's rough sleepers and those on low incomes.
It runs a community street kitchen three times a week, a donation site for food, clothing, bedding, tents and other useful items distributed to rough sleepers in the Bury areas.
In addition, it also offers signposting for those needing help with benefits, housing and medical help.
