PASSENGERS are experiencing delays on the Metrolink's Bury-bound services due to a fault.

Several tram services have been amended due to a broken overhead supporting wire.

There are currently no services calling at Shudehill and Market Street in Manchester city centre.

A spokesman for Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said: "One of the supporting wires near Manchester Victoria train station has come down.

"There are currently engineers on site. They are working to fix the issue but we do not have an estimated time on how long the work is going to take.

"All services are currently operating via the Second City Crossing."

The Bury to Manchester Piccadilly tram services are instead operating from Bury to Deansgate-Castlefield via Exchange Square. The Bury to Altrincham services are also operating via Exchange Square.

On Twitter, Metrolink has apologised for any inconvenience caused.

They said: "We are experiencing delays on this line due to severe weather conditions and an overhead line fault. Best efforts are being made to resolve the fault. We can only apologise for any inconvenience."
