THIS week’s delve into the picture archives at The Bolton News has unearthed this photograph of Bolton Lads Club A team from June 1975.

The information accompanying the picture says the team won the Chadwick Cup and League Cup and were Division One champions in the 1974/75 season.

It also says they were runners-up in the Marshall Cup.

Do you remember that team or recognise anyone in the line-up?

Did you play for them or have any memories of winning silverware that season?

THE second picture of Little Hulton FC from 1982 was featured in the sporting nostalgia section in the January 10 edition of The Bolton News and brought back memories for several people with many featured in last week's section.

More readers have been in touch with their memories of that Little Hulton team and the Hospital Cup final against Eagley Viscom.

John Burke emailed in and said: "I recognise a couple of players – the first player, extreme right, back row is John Dixon, who I played with at Great Lever Rangers, one of the founder members of the Bolton Sunday League.

"We grew up together and went on to play for other teams together.

"He was a brilliant player, excellent in the air and very tricky on the ball and he could run like a greyhound.

"The last time I saw John was a very sad occasion – it was at the funeral of his older brother.

"He told me that he was now living in Inverness, Scotland.

"The other player I recognise, I think, is second from right, front row, Andy Constantine – again a great player.

"I played with Andy for The Kings Arms, Chorley Old Road, and he had a great amateur career, playing for a few local clubs.

"Great memories of the good old days.

"Well done The Bolton News for keeping the amateur game, past and present, in the forefront of local sport."

Paula Coleman said: "My husband, Mike Ayres, played in the final.

"The team, back from left, are: John Worthington, Paul Craig, Arthur Pawson, Mike Ayres, Barry Gunn, Steve Holmes, John Dickson; front, Neil McIntyre, Mike Blood, Steve Willison, Andy Constantine and Steve Ayres."

Finally, Barry Gunn emailed: "I would like to congratulate you on a great article on the archives of old football teams.

"I was in the the Little Hulton side that created records that still stand.

"In the first season in the Bolton Combination Premier League, we played 19 games and won 19.

"The run came to an end with an incredible game against Eagley when we lost 5-4 and missed two penalties.

"Then the following season we played 13 and won 13.

"It is great to see and read up on some of the great teams of the past.

"Keep up the good work – it is very enjoyable to a lot of older guys and girls."
