DO you remember the original Horwich RMI Football Club? This week’s The Big Picture, the great weekly feature showcasing a sport photograph from The Bolton News archives, this week features a snap of a pre-season friendly at Horwich RMI when Wanderers were the visitors in 1971. Non-league side RMI, who no longer exist – although there is another amateur club currently playing with the same name – used to be based at their home ground of Grundy Hill in Horwich, where this photograph was taken. Houses now occupy the area where it used to be. They were built after the club, which was founded in 1896, moved to play in Leigh in 1995. The move saw the club change their name as well as their location, before they folded all together in 2011. There is no information on the back of the original print, so if you know who the players are on the picture, or remember anything about the game, feel free to let us know. Also, if you have recollections of the old Horwich RMI FC you would like to share email neil.bonnar@nqnw.co.uk
