BOLTON martial arts club Bolton Dragons took 35 youngsters to a tournament in Italy and came back with a mighty medal haul of seven gold, 10 silver and 34 bronze.

They finished sixth in the medal table out of 110 teams from a number of countries who made the trip to Conegliano for the Golden Glove tournament.

The club has been based in Halliwell for 15 years and takes children and adults to martial arts competitions all over the world.

Bolton Dragons' 35 youngsters entered 65 events between them in the northern Italy town.

Their youngest, four-year-old Belmont Primary School pupil Rusty-Parker, produced an outstanding performance to win two silver medals.

Senior club coach Jason Morrison said: "Bolton is full of amazing people and we are just helping them discover themselves and make winning in life a reality."
