A TEENAGE boy has been left in hospital after colliding with a car.

The 14-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a suspected broken arm after an incident on Ringley Road West.

The crash involved one car and the boy, who was a pedestrian. Police responded to reports of the collision at around 4.43pm.

Police closed Ringley Road West in both directions between Elm Avenue and Outwood Road shortly after the crash.

Police were at the scene for two hours. The road has now been reopened. 

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "A 14-year-old male has been taken to hospital with a possible broken arm. There was nothing suspicious about it." 

An air ambulance was been spotted landing in the area.

Traffic was queued back to Kearsley in one direction after the incident.
