A MAN has been fined £100 after he ignored a criminal behaviour order banning him from entering Bury town centre.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court John Hodgson, aged 50, of Arley Avenue, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on February 23.

He was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £50 after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly at Bury Interchange on February 23.

Arkasiosz Lemke, aged 31, of no fixed address, was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A THIEF who stole goods from Marks and Spencer in Altrincham and assaulted a man on August 21 has been given a suspended prison sentence.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Marlon Prescod-Brown, aged 30, of Powell Street, Bury, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and was found guilty of the assault.

He was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended for 12 months, ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £26.66 in compensation plus £200 towards prosecution costs.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to eight weeks in prison suspended for 12 months after he admitted making a phone call to a woman on February 20 in breach of restraining order.

Michael St Clair-Brine, aged 46, of Massey Street, Bury, was also ordered to pay £200 in costs and charges.

A MAN caught begging in Market Street, Manchester, on January 14, has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months.

Martin Hall, aged 54, of Spring Lane, Radcliffe, was also ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to 20 weeks in prison after he repeatedly visited his parents’ home in breach of a restraining order.

In the space of a week David Marsden, aged 48, of Powell Street, Bury, went the to property four times. Magistrates regarded it as a “flagrant” breach of the order committed shortly after he was released from prison.

A DRINK driver has been banned from holding a licence for 18 months by Manchester magistrates.

Andrew Wright, aged 32, of Wilson Street, Prestwich, admitted having drunk more than twice the legal alcohol limit when he drove an Audi A5 on Bury New Road on January 10.

He was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A MAN has been jailed for seven days for contacting a woman in breach of a restraining order. At Manchester Magistrates' Court Scott Watson, aged 29, of Walmersley Road, Bury, was also ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
