AN appeal has been made after thieves wearing high-visibility clothing smashed through a patio door at a Prestwich home.
Three men smashed through the glass of a patio door at a property in Simister Lane this afternoon.
They made their getaway in a white transit van after being disturbed by a neighbour.
Police have urged residents to ensure their homes are secure.
Officers were called to a burglary in Simister Lane at about 12.15pm today.
Greater Manchester Police's Bury South team posted on Facebook about the incident: "Three men wearing high vis smashed the glass of a patio door, gained entry but quickly made off in a white transit van after being spooked by a neighbour.
"Please secure your homes, including side gates, use alarms and CCTV if possible."
