THE date of an annual festival for meat lovers has been moved "to avoid a clash" with another popular Bury day out.

The Big Grill UK — held at Burrs Country Park — was initially being advertised for July 6-7.

However, the event, which promises "meat, music and madness" and features tribute acts to the Arctic Monkeys, Stereophonics and Madness, has now been moved to August 10-11.

It is believed the outdoor event was moved to avoid a clash of dates with the long-running and popular Tottington's Big Day Out, which is held on July 7.

Tottington's Big Day Out posted on Facebook yesterday: "Please be aware that the Big Grill event at Burrs has been moved to the weekend of August 10-11 so it no longer clashes with TBDO. Which means you will now be able to enjoy both events.

"Remember TBDO is still on Sunday, July 7 at Crompton Meadows, Beryl Avenue."

Totty's Big Day Out features live bands, a beer tent, a barbecue, games and more. The cost of the event, which kicks off at midday, is £2 on the door.

Tickets for The Big Grill, at £5 for children, £6 for adults and £17.60 for a family of four, are available at https://www.ticketline.co.uk/the-big-grill#bio.
