A FUNERAL home has called on members of the community to help them bring some egg-stra cheer to children in need.

The Co-op Funeralcare, based in Silver Street, Bury, has asked for donations of Easter eggs for their new appeal.

Staff are collecting chocolate eggs of all shapes and sizes to donate to Grace's Place Children's Hospice, in Radcliffe.

The site in Dumers Lane, run by Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, provides in-house care for children with life-shortening conditions and support for their families.

Clair Koehler, one of the team at The Co-op Funeralcare, said: "There are many children in the local area who may welcome a bit of extra cheer this Easter.

"As a business at the heart of the community, we want to do our bit by trying to put a smile on as many of their faces as possible."

Easter egg donations can be dropped off with staff at the funeral home, at 22 Silver Street, until Friday, April 12.

They will then be presented to Grace's Place, who will distribute the chocolate eggs between the children in time for Easter.
