A NEW political party in the making is holding a public meeting for residents to have their say.

Radcliffe First, which has begun the formal process of registering as an official party, has invited members of the community to attend their next gathering on Wednesday, April 3.

At the local elections in May, two independent candidates from the group will be standing for election — James Mason in Radcliffe East ward and Carol Birchmore in Radcliffe West ward.

In a Facebook event, the group posted: "Our two candidates will stand side by side sharing the same high values, hopes and aspirations for the town of Radcliffe and the lives of its people.

"Come along to our meeting and lend your support for Radcliffe First a new political party. This is your opportunity to get involved and tell us how we can improve things.

"Exciting times ahead and we thank you all for your continued support."

The meeting will take place between 7pm and 9pm at Radcliffe Borough Football Club in Colshaw Close East, Radcliffe.
