EVER fancied playing a musical instrument?

The Met in Bury is staging a day of musical inspiration for all ages this Saturday.

There will be free drop-in taster sessions to give people a chance to pick-up and play instruments.

Victoria Robinson, Chief Executive Officer at The Met said:"The Met is proud to be part of Learn To Play Day, and we hope people of all ages and experience can drop in and make music with us on Saturday. We’re committed to helping more people discover and develop their creativity and would encourage anyone to join us and learn a little more."

Those interested can drop-by between 10.30am and 12.30pm for tasters of the weekly lessons offered by Alfa Education.

There is a chance to learn the ukulele, join in a Djembe drumming workshop or even singalong with the community and junior choirs.

From 12.30 there will be taster session for beginners of all ages with The Met’s own guitar wizard Tyrion Moses. Drop in for a sample of Terry’s regular lessons.

And from 1pm Bury bluesman Mat Walklate will be hosting free, drop-in harmonica lessons where visitors can get a taste of these brilliant regular lessons from an expert player.

The Learn to Play Day is part of a national scheme from Music for All.
