THE top team in the Premier Division of the Bolton and District Table Tennis League, Ramsbottom Town A, had no opposition from Nomads, who were unable to field a team.

Ramsbottom receive 25 points from a maximum of 27 based on their average score throughout the season.

Second-placed Flixton Cricket Club A also had an easier ride than expected as they faced a two-man Little Lever Cricket Club A and won 23-6.

Ramsbottom Town B, in third place, had a week off, while fourth-placed Hilton A won 26-11 against their bottom-of-the-table B team with nine points from both Keiron Beswick and Robert Hall.

Mid-table Flixton Cricket Club B beat second-bottom Ladybridge A 26-11 with nine points from Anthony Bates and Jacob Reilly-Cooper.

Mid-table teams Radcliffe Cricket Club and Wharton met with the latter edging it 18-17 despite a resisting nine points from Kristof Pinter.

Division One leaders Burning Desire marched on with a 27-12 win against Little Lever Cricket Club B, and second-placed Wigan TTC took care of Wingates 25-8 with nine points from Daniel Watkinson and Tony Whitney.

Third-placed Ramsbottom Town D beat Farnworth Social Circle A 26-6 with nine points from Martin Holt and Tommy Ryan.

Fourth-placed Coburg had a 23-13 victory over Heaton Cricket Club A assisted by nine points from Chris Naylor.

Fifth-placed Polonia Club A had a 20-16 win against a Hilton D team two places below them despite Matthew Fishwick winning nine points.

Division Two’s top team Saint Paul’s Peel are only two points ahead of second-placed Hilton E.

The former beat 10th-placed Farnworth Social Circle B 27-4 and Hilton E won 25-11 against fourth-placed Meadow Ben B with nine points from both Matthew Kennedy and Jei Makino.

Third-placed Polonia Club B, who are just 10 points adrift of second place, beat Hilton Top Spinners 24-15 helped by nine points from Marian Bleho.

Bolton TTC in fifth place had a 21-13 victory over second-bottom Walkden Methodists, assisted by nine points from Peter McCormick and Nayem Alam.

Mid-table Brasszone took care of bottom team Hilton F 18-13 despite a resisting nine points from Ian Raby.

Runaway Division Three leaders Farnworth Social Circle C beat third-placed Meadow Ben C 23-13 assisted by nine points from Ben Wyatt.

Just one point above Meadow Ben in second place, Meadow Hill A had an 18-12 victory over juniors Hilton I, helped by nine points from John Nuttall.

Fourth-placed Farnworth Social Circle D took care of Polonia Club C in sixth-place 25-7 with nine points from Elena Cecilia Tepelus and Pete Walker.

In fifth place, Meadow Ben D beat Hilton H 21-14 with nine points from Philip Calvert.

A mid-table match saw Irlam Steel just beat Hilton G with nine points from David Yates and Matt Hood, while10th-placed Ladybridge C beat bottom team Meadow Hill B 26-8 with nine points from John Hilton and Andy Scully.

This week the penultimate matches of the season take place.

First and second places in the top two divisions are already decided.

In Division Two, the top three teams still have everything to play for, while in Division Three the top place is assured, but second and third places have yet to be decided.
