POLICE have released a picture of a man they want to speak to in relation to a “brutal” attack on a pensioner.

The 78-year-old man was thrown to the floor and kicked in the head after he tried to stop a man and a woman who were attempting to shoplift from Boots Pharmacy, in Blackburn Street, Radcliffe.

The elderly victim was left with two black eyes, swelling and cuts and bruises all over his nose and cheeks. He was taken to hospital for treatment and was said to be “incredibly shaken” by the incident.

Following the attack, at around 9.30am on Thursday March 21, police have been searching for the two people involved.

Officers believe the first offender is a white man, around 6ft 2in tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a black coat, dark trousers and dark trainers.

Bury Times:

The second offender is described as a white woman, around 5ft 2in tall and of slim build.

She was wearing a khaki green coat, pink and purple trainers and spoke with a Manchester accent.
