TWO men have been arrested and more than 120 cannabis plants seized in dawn raids this morning.

It comes after police executed a warrant at a home in Over Hulton as part of Operation Challenger, which aims to tackle organised crime across Greater Manchester.

Two men, aged 60 and 21-years-old have been arrested on suspicion of production of a controlled drug at a house on Manchester Road. They remain in custody for questioning.

Detective inspector Tanya Kitchen of GMP’s Bolton District said: “The supply and use of drugs on our street will not be tolerated, and we will continue to take action like today until this is recognised.

"We have two men in custody but this investigation is in its early stages, and officers will be in the area continuing with their enquiries over the next few days.

“If you have any information, or if you have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area recently then please get in touch with police as soon as you can.”

The warrant was executed as part of a pre-planned operation targeting organised crime in Bolton.

Police also found a quantity of cash at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 0161 856 5625 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
