TEMPERATURES are set to reach highs of 22C in Greater Manchester this week - but you'd better make the most of it.

According to the Met Office, the region will bask in warm and sunny weather today and tomorrow thanks to warm air from the south.

But the clear, blue skies will be replaced by a gloomier outlook later in the week with chilly weather and showers expected.

A spokesperson said skies will be "staying mainly clear, expect for the odd patch of cloud" today and it will "become very warm during the afternoon".

Maximum temperatures of 22C are expected.

A similar picture is forecast for Wednesday with a warm, dry and sunny day across the North West with highs of 22C.

Thursday is forecast to be warm and dry but on Friday the weather is expected to change "with a mix of sunshine and showers; some perhaps turning heavy."

Temperatures are expected to dip to around 16C.

Next week is forecast to remain changeable with an increased chance of rain and a small risk of thunder.
