A CRASH between an Audi and a Peugeot caused havoc on a busy Bury junction yesterday evening.

The two cars collided at the junction of Rochdale Road and Wash Lane near to junction 2 of the M66 causing delays for motorists.

The emergency services were called to the scene and the driver of the Peugeot, a man in his 50s, was treated by paramedics for a shoulder injury.

Watch manager Steve Wilcock attended the scene with the crew from Bury Fire Station.

He said: "It happened at quite a busy junction so it caused quite a bit of disruption."

The dark grey Audi TT and navy blue Peugeot crashed at about 8pm yesterday and the firefighters were responsible for making the area safe.

Mr Wilcock said the man in the Peugeot was able to get out of his car himself.

Greater Manchester Police have been approached for a comment.
