FIREFIGHTERS from Hollins dealt with a blaze which destroyed a detached garage and its contents in Chadderton last night.
They were called to a semi-detached home in Walker Road at 8.30pm and were on the scene for more than two hours. It is believed a discarded cigarette sparked the blaze.
The crew was also called at 4am to deal with a blaze involving a petrol can and fencing in Fir Tree Avenue. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
