ICE hockey players will pay tribute to their former Swindon team mate at a fundraising match this evening.
Darren Taylor died last year aged just 36 after losing his battle with sarcoma, a rare form of cancer.
The Swindon man played ice hockey with the Panthers.
A year on, his former team mates are taking to the ice for a match to raise cash for Prospect Hospice. Nurses from the Wroughton-based hospice cared for Darren in the final months of his life.
Friend Scott Gough said: "Darren played ice hockey all through juniors in Swindon and then played senior hockey with the Swindon Panthers for many years. He and I ended up running the club until his illness stopped him playing the sport he loved."
The memorial match will take place at the Link Centre on Saturday, May 25, starting at 5.15pm.
