A MOTORCYCLIST has suffered life-changing injuries following a serious collision between a car and a motorcycle in Heywood.

The incident happened in Pilsworth Road shortly after 6am yesterday.

A silver Toyota Avensis was travelling west along the road before turning right into the entrance of Heywood Distribution Centre, where it collided with a white Honda motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries, where he continues to receive treatment.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward.

Police Constable Andrew Page of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This was a serious collision that has left a man with life-changing injuries and our thoughts remain with him and his family as he continues to recover in hospital.

“This collision occurred on a main road and while it was relatively early in the morning, we believe there may be a number of people who saw the vehicles prior to the incident.

“If you have any information or dash cam footage that can assist us, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
