MAGISTRATES have fined a man £120 after he admitted being drunk on an Thomson Airways flight from Tenerife to Manchester on April 16. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Carl Trousdale, aged 36, of Roman Road, Prestwich, was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A DRINK driver has been ordered to wear an electronic tag by Manchester magistrates. The court heard how Thomas Case, aged 28, of Moorside Avenue, Ainsworth, had drunk more than double the legal alcohol limit when he was caught driving a Ford Transit van on Ainsworth Road, Bury, on March 27. He pleaded guilty to committing the offence and was sentenced to a 7pm to 7am curfew for 10 weeks, must participate in a drink impaired driver’s programme and was banned from holding a licence for three years. Case was also ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.

A MAN has been jailed for 41 weeks by magistrates after he failed to obey the terms of the sex offenders’ register. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Mohammed Khan, aged 37, of Kirby Close, Bury, admitted failing to notify his change of address and failed to disclose that he had spent more than 12 hours with a child at an address. The court heard that Khan had committed previous breaches of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. He was ordered to pay £200 in costs and charges.

A TEENAGER has been banned from holding a licence for 20 months after she was caught drink driving. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Athina Kuyucak, aged 19, of Crag Lane, Summerseat, pleaded guilty to committing the offence when driving a Range Rover Evoque in Great Cheetham Street, Higher Broughton, on April 14. The court heard that she had drunk double the legal alcohol limit. In addition to the driving ban, she was fined £120 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

A MOTORIST has been fined after he was convicted of careless driving on the M60 at Simister. Stephen Mellor, aged 62, of Comall Street, Bury, had denied driving the Ford Kuga on October 16 last year without care and attention, but was found guilty at Manchester Magistrates' Court. He was fined £60, three penalty points were added to his licence and was ordered to pay £230 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work after he admitted harassing a woman by telephoning her numerous times. Ross Whitbread, aged 26, of Hollinhurst Road, Radcliffe, committed the offence on May 10 and 11. In addition to the unpaid work, he was ordered to participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £170 in costs and charges. He was also banned from contacting his victim or going to Canalside Gardens, Radcliffe.

A TEENAGER caught drink driving and without insurance has been banned from the roads for 18 months. Cameron Wilkin, aged 18, of Haseley Close, Radcliffe, had drunk more than double the legal alcohol limit when he was caught driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Turks Road, Radcliffe on April 20. At Manchester Magistrates' Court he pleaded guilty to committing the offences and was fined £450 plus £115 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a woman to a 7pm to 5am curfew for eight weeks after she was caught drink driving.

Sharon Collins, aged 49, of Riverbank Drive, Bury, had drunk more than three times the legal alcohol limit when she drove a Vauxhall Astra on Woodhill Road, Bury, on April 20.

She pleaded guilty to committing the offence and was ordered to have treatment for alcohol addiction for 12 months plus 10 days of rehabilitation activities.

Collins was banned from driving for 30 months and must pay £170 in costs and charges.
