PUPILS from Thornleigh Salesian College featured on the BBC’s Newsround programme after travelling to London to join 12,000 other people calling on MPs to act on climate change.

The Time is Now climate lobby is the the largest-ever environmental lobby of Parliament. More than 200 MPs came out to meet with their constituents – who urged their MPs to pass ambitious new laws that cut plastic waste, improve air quality and help stop the UK’s contribution to climate change by 2045.

The Catholic aid agency CAFOD arranged for the Thornleigh pupils to be followed for the day by a camera crew from the hit BBC show Newsround, with presenter Martin Dougan on hand to capture the group’s reaction after they interviewed local MP Sir David Crausby on what he was doing to tackle the issue.
