A BOWLING alley has reopened following a £300,000 makeover.

Visitors were bowled over as they got a sneak peak of Hollywood Bowl, which has replaced AMF Bowling at The Rock, at a launch event last week.

Hosted by the iconic Hollywood actress, ‘Marilyn’, guests celebrated in true LA fashion as they popped bottles of bubbly at the new-look alley, which boasts 24 state-of-the-art lanes and iconic American décor.

And for those looking for the real ‘star’ treatment, there are also four VIP lanes available at the centre.

In addition to the updated lanes, guests can also treat themselves to a range of American-style cuisine such as burgers and hot dogs, freshly made thick shakes served in retro milk bottles, and signature desserts from the Hollywood Diner.

The centre’s amusement area has also been transformed and now features industry-leading games such as Jurassic Park, Grand Piano and retro games like Space Invaders and Crossy Road.

There will also be the opportunity to ‘Play for Prizes’, where visitors can win tickets on their favourite games and exchange them for a range of prizes.

Nick Hughes, centre manager at AMF Bowling Bury said: “The response to our new look centre from the residents of Bury has been overwhelming!

"The team has done a magnificent job in revamping Bury’s centre and we’re excited to bring the new and improved Hollywood Bowl experience to the local area.

“Whether it’s for family fun, kids’ or adult’s birthday parties, work functions, nights with dates or mates or simply an excuse to celebrate the weekend – you name it, our team has got it covered!”
