CATCH the national football squad as they switch Wembley for Whitefield this weekend.

England Amputee Football Squad are playing a special tournament to share the inclusive message of the beautiful game at the ground of Unsworth FC.

The event has been organised by international cosmetic's giant L'Oréal, who have a distribution centre in Pilsworth, and will be fielding three seven-a-side teams.

They will also be competing with a team from the Prince's Trust and another from Unsworth FC.

Paul Walsh, club secretary at Unsworth FC, said: "This is a massive coup for the area.

"These people usually play at Wembley or the Etihad and we are very proud to get this.

"We just want to get as many people down as possible to support it. Families are more than welcome and we would like to show that football is a sport for everybody."

Mr Walsh added: "If we get this right this could be made into an annual event, which is pretty special and will have an amazing community effect."

Games will kick off at Unsworth Cricket & Tennis Club in Pole Lane from 11am on August 4.

Entry is free and there will be food and refreshments available from the bar and cafe.
