LIVE: Newark Flowserve 4 Worcester City 3

Our live feed has now finished.

  • FT: Newark Flowserve 4 (King 35, Cotton 45, Agar 65, 69p) Worcester City 2 (Lockett 41, Jeys 81, 85)
  • A CONTROVERSIAL penalty ended up deciding City's 4-3 defeat at Newark Flowserve despite a late double from substitute Jak Jeys.
  • Newark held the edge and began racking up chances around the half-hour mark, taking the lead 10 minutes before half-time through Elliot King's flicked finish from Lawrence Gorman's long throw.
  • Liam Lockett levelled with a weaving run and caressed finish low to Joe Searson-Smithard's right but Flowserve moved back ahead in the 45th minute when Matt Cotton's blast crept inside Ted Cann's near post.
  • A moment of quality seemingly settled the destiny of the points with Cotton drawing his man before rolling to constant menace Sam Agar who applied the simplest of finishes from eight yards.
  • Agar then coolly slotted away a controversial penalty given against Nyeko Sinclair four minutes later before City substitute Jak Jeys notched an eye-catching a 20-plus yard free-kick nine minutes from time.
  • Jeys then set up a tense finish five minutes from the end by finishing off a Luke English centre at the far post but the hosts stood firm.
