POLICE have carried out another search an area close to where a "human bone" was found yesterday.
An investigation was launched after a suspected human femur bone was found on land behind a scout hut in Derby Street, Prestwich, on Friday evening.
Police said at the time that there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances, and were carrying out enquiries into where the bone had come from.
A scene has been in place over the weekend, although residents living nearby reported a large police presence descending on the area at about 1.30pm this afternoon.
A tactical aid unit and a specialist search unit were spotted on the street, while forensics officers also worked at the scene.
One man living on the street, who asked not to be named, said he had been sitting in his garden when the vehicles descended on the street.
He added: "The police have been here since Friday night and there has been tape up.
"At the back, there is a bit of land was completely fenced off that belongs to the scout hut."
