JOSH Earl and Connor Hall stand to be side-lined for up to three months after suffering almost identical ankle ligament injuries atWanderers.

On-loan Preston full-back Earl limped off just 15 minutes into his debut in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Wycombe and could now require surgery to correct the issue.

Hall was pictured wearing a protective boot at the training ground last week and is believed to have damaged his ankle playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Bradford City.

Both players have been told the timeframe for recovery is around eight to 12 weeks, depending on whether they need an operation.

Earl is on loan until January and could return to Deepdale for treatment while Hall was recently linked with a move to Crewe Alexandra, Yeovil Town and Wycombe.
