A SHOPLIFTER who stole glue and tape worth more than £300 from the Wilko store in Bury has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months by Manchester magistrates.

Michael Godwin, aged 50, pleaded guilty to committing the thefts on March 8 and 9. He was ordered to pay the store £223 in compensation.

A DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for 18 months by Manchester magistrates.

Natasha Adair, aged 35, of Astbury Street, Radcliffe, pleaded guilty to driving a Chevrolet Spark on Warth Road, Bury, on July 8 after drinking more than double the legal alcohol limit.

She was also fined £120 plus £115 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do 100 hours of unpaid work after he admitted harassing a woman by repeatedly telephoning her between July 12 and 14.

Sam Green, aged 27, of Alfred Street, Bury, was also ordered to pay £260 in costs and charges and a restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim or going to Morley Road, Radcliffe.

A MAN who ignored a restraining order has been fined £80 by Manchester magistrates.

Reece Haywood, aged 27, of Turff Street, Radcliffe, admitted committing the offence between June 30 and July 29, was also ordered to pay £107 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have handed a man a suspended prison sentence after he was found guilty of stalking a woman between March last year and January. Dale Moir, aged 27, of Mode Hill Lane, Whitefield, had denied committing the offence.

Manchester magistrates heard how Moir followed her to the gym, verbally abusing her, made comments of social media and sent unwanted text messages and voice mails.

He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 24 months, must participate in 13 days of rehabilitation activities and a better relationships programme and pay £715 in costs and charges.

A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim.

A MAN who assaulted a woman and breached a domestic violence protection order has been ordered to participate in 30 days of rehabilitation activities and undertake a behaviour programme. At Manchester Magistrates' Court Callum Brady, aged b21, of Chestnut Fold, Radcliffe, pleaded guilty to committing the offences on July 14 and 18. He was fined £20, ordered to pay £90 plus £85 towards prosecution costs and a restraining order was made banning him from going to Tonge Moor Road, Bolton.

A 16-YEAR-OLD Whitefield boy has been electronically tagged and sentenced to a 7pm to 7am curfew for six months after he admitted robbing a man of an e-cigarette and liquids on April 12.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons appeared at Manchester Youth Court and was also ordered to participate in Youth Offender Team activities for 91 days and must pay his victim £150 in compensation.

A 15-year-old girl who pleaded guilty to committing the same offence and assaulting two police officers and possessing two kitchen knives was referred to the youth offender panel for 12 months and ordered to pay a total of £250 in compensation.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months after he was caught driving a Nissan Juke on Ainsworth Road, Radcliffe, on January 28 without a licence or insurance.

Callum Seddon, aged 24, of Ainsworth Road, Radcliffe, pleaded guilty to committing the offences and to producing cannabis.

As part of his sentence Seddon was ordered to carry out 140 hours of unpaid work, must participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £200 in costs and charges.

He was banned from applying for a driving licence for 15 months.

A DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for 12 months by Manchester magistrates.

Paul Andrews, aged 55, of Hanson Street, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offence when he drove a Ford Transit van on Topping Street, Bury on June 24.

He was also fined £750 and order to pay £160 in costs and charges.
