A SUMMER festival wouldn't be a festival without the mud and the rain!
And there was plenty of both at this year's Big Grill Festival UK.
The popular food and drink festival returned to Burrs Country Park over the weekend — transforming into a "meat lover shin dig".
There was also live music and activities for the kids.
Sarah Roff, festival organiser, was pleased at the turnout despite the rain.
She said: “We had an amazing day despite the weather’s best efforts with heavy rain, wind and mud.
“We had a fantastic day. The bands were amazing and all the traders were great.”
Chefs cooked up on several large-scale barbecues, against a backdrop of craft ale and quirky cocktail bars — to cater for everyone's taste.
Visitors had the opportunity to try and taste food produced by professional competitors in 'Lord Of The Flames' — a two-day 'low and slow' BBQ competition.
DJs performed all day and night on Saturday in the beats tent, while today singer songwriters took to the acoustic stage.
