A WOMAN has been jailed for 24 weeks after she was convicted of possessing a banned dog. Manchester magistrates heard how Tracey Clarke, aged 48, of Ernest Place, Prestwich, was caught with the Pit Bull, named Sky, on May 21 and it had attacked another dog. Clarke was banned from keeping a dog for two years and the court ordered that Sky is destroyed. Clarke also admitted stealing alcohol, candles and cake, worth a total of £280, from Slattery's on January 10 and 11. At the time she was subject to a suspended prison sentence for shoplifting.

MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to do 50 hours of unpaid work after he admitted assaulting a man in Ramsbottom on December 1 last year. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Dominic Slaven, aged 31, of Halstead Walk, Bury, was also ordered to pay his victim £100 in compensation and pay £170 in costs and charges.

A MAN who breached the peace in Bury on August 9 has been bound over to keep the peace for 12 months or pay £100. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Daniel Watson, aged 27, of Nuttall Street, Bury, admitted the offence.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to six weeks in prison after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Openshaw Park, Bury on August 8 and damaging a door at Fairfield Hospital. At the time Adam Ellis, aged 33, of Kestrel Drive, Bury, was subject to a suspended prison sentence for theft.

A MAN who was drunk and disorderly at Bury bus station on June 15 has been fined £100 by Manchester magistrates. Daniel McGonagle, aged 38, of Wheelton Close, Bury, admitted committing the offence and was also ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to undertake 200 hours of unpaid work after he admitted harassing a woman on May 3. Dean Oakley, aged 30, of Whittle Street, Bury, initially denied committing the offence, but changed his plea to guilty.

He was also ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £235 in costs and charges. The court made a restraining order banning him from contacting his victim and going to Derwent Close and Blown Hair Studio, Whitefield.

A THIEF caught interfering with two cars in Radcliffe on August 7 has been jailed for four months.

Manchester magistrates heard how Darren Anderson, aged 42, of no fixed address, already had a record of offending when he targeted the Fiat 500 and Saab 93. He was also ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to 14 weeks in prison after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Bury on August 14 and assaulting two police officers, spitting at them as they tried to help him. Dion Holt, aged 28, of no fixed address was also ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge.
