EWOOD'S Fox and Hounds pub gets the Shire horse star treatment in May 1994 after its pool players won the annual Thwaites brewery championship.
Landlord and landlady Derek and Janet Howarth proudly hold up the championship shield with the famous animals and the dray behind them.
In attendance are senior brewery games staff Bill Wiinard and Mike Lockwood along with sales manager Richard Looms as well as horse keepers David Clarkson (behind) and Charles Beardmore..
It clearly a proud moment for the Blackburn pub, but little did Mr and Mrs Howarth know that they were going to get used to such events.
For its pool team's triumph was just the first of six consecutive wins by the Fox and Hounds cue ball squad making them Champions of Champions and saving moving the trophy shield around for a while.
