A HAIRDRESSER has been spared jail after performing a sex act on a town centre street.

Genna Beckett committed the ‘prolonged’ act on herself in full view of members of the public while intoxicated, Warrington Magistrates' Court heard last week.

The 39-year-old, from Latchford, had admitted outraging public decency during an earlier court hearing.

On Wednesday, September 4, she was handed a 20-week imprisonment by magistrates, suspended for 18 months.

Beckett, of Lyon Street, had been due to be sentenced on Tuesday, August 27, but was too drunk to be let into the court.

The mum-of-three then failed to appear in court on Monday, September 2, and a warrant for her arrest was issued.

Eventually being sentenced two days later, she also admitted failing to surrender to court bail and breaching a suspended sentence handed down for drink driving back in February this year.

Beckett was ordered to undergo an 18-month rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 35 days and a six-month alcohol treatment requirement.

She was also told to pay a £112 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
