FIVE-STAR Lainston House has appointed Phil Yeomans as Executive Chef. Phil returns to the luxury hotel near Sparsholt, having previously held the position of head chef for seven years from 2005 to 2014.

He brings with him over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry and has worked at The Dorchester, Harvey Nichols, Soho House, further afield at The Fearrington Inn in North Carolina, USA, and as Head Chef of the prestigious Coral Beach Club in Bermuda.

Phil says: “Winchester is my home and I’m delighted to return to my roots with my family, in a position that will be an exciting new challenge for me. Lainston House has an excellent reputation and I’m looking forward to building on this and helping the team to grow.”

Phil’s style of cooking is best described as modern British, combining his classical training with the employment of modern techniques, resulting in the creation of flavourful yet clean and delicate dishes.

Lainston House embodies Phil’s passion for working with local suppliers and food producers and he aims to bring this to life throughout the hotel as his menus develop over the coming months.
