THE sounds of Rhythm and Blues echoed around Darlington town centre at the weekend with hundreds of people turning out to enjoy some free musical entertainment.

The annual festival took over the town's Market Square with the main stage boasting performances from John Coghlan’s Quo, Tommy Allen’s Trafficker, pictured below, Mike Vernon & the Mighty Combo and Sari Schorr & The Engine Room.

Alan Robson, from Newton Aycliffe, said: "There's not as many people as usual but the music has been great – it's just a shame about the weather really."
