Peel Tower Open Day

Explore one of Bury’s monuments to Sir Robert Peel, the Prime Minister of Britain from 1841-1946. Sir Peel was born in Bury and is considered the father of modern policing through his work. Sir Peel was memorialised in 1852, with residents building this majestic tower on Holcombe Hill, and a statue of him in Market Place in the centre of Bury.

Climb the 148 steps to see breath-taking views of the countryside, Blackpool, and Wales on clear days. The tower requests a small entry fee of 50p per child, £1 per adult, or £2 for a family (2 adults, 2 children), and will be open 11am – 4:30pm.
