A BURY firm is gearing up to mark the first anniversary of its support for a charity helping families whose lives have been affected by brain tumour and post-operative disabilities.

Staff at the Financial Options Group have organised a black tie gala dinner, including a champagne reception, live auction and music from international funk saxophonist DaxOnSax to raise money for SuperJosh: The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity.

The gala will take place on Saturday at Hilton Manchester Deansgate, and all of the event tickets, totalling more than 350 at £120 per person, have sold out ahead of the occasion.

Organisers from Financial Options Group Charitable Foundation described SuperJosh as "an incredible charity that helps support young children and families across the North West through some incredibly challenging times".

The charity was co-founded by mum Dawn Fidler in memory of her late son. Nicknamed SuperJosh due to his bravery and positive attitude, the youngster, of Walshaw, had been left disabled following surgery to remove a brain stem tumour.

Sarah Kendell, operations director and financial adviser at The Financial Options Group, said: "We're aiming to raise as much as possible, both in terms of funds and in awareness.

"We've been active as a fundraising partner with SuperJosh for years now, and were co-hosts of a gala fundraiser in aid of the charity last year.

"As sole hosts of this weekend's event we hope it will exceed all expectations and that the funds raised will go a long way in support of families in our community".
