THERE will be no trams running on the Bury line this weekend while improvements are carried out.
The work, which will impact services on Saturday and Sunday, is part of the Trafford Park Metrolink line extension.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has announced that there will be no services on the Bury line between Bury and Queens Road.
Meanwhile, on the Altrincham line, all services will terminate at Piccadilly.
Replacement bus services will be operating in both directions along the Bury line, taking in all of the stops: Bury, Radcliffe, Whitefield, Besses o'th' Barn, Prestwich, Heaton Park, Bowker Vale, Crumpsall, Abraham Moss, Queens Road and Victoria.
The £350m Trafford Park line extension, which is due to open in the first half of 2020, will add a further 5.5km and six stops to Metrolink, already the UK’s largest light rail network.
The new line is being funded by Greater Manchester’s Devolution Deal, which was signed by the city-region’s leaders in 2014.
