A WHEELIE bin was hurled through the window of a bedsit in Little Lever last week.

It is the latest in a string of anti-social behaviour incidents reported at the residential block in Independent Street.

Ward councillors have taken up the case and have called for action to be taken by the police, and Bolton at Home, who let the properties.

Cllr Sean Hornby says that six residents have made complaints to him about anti-social behaviour at The Haven, a block of ground floor accommodation.

He said: “There has been a change of tenancy at The Haven. On Thursday there was a row and the next thing, a black bin had been thrown through the window.

“For residents living in nearby Arthur Street, Independent Street and Ainsworth Road, this is the last straw.”

Several windows were also smashed. It is understood the damage is being investigated by Bolton Council’s anti-social behaviour team.

Cllr Hornby has contacted Bolton at Home calling for the situation to be resolved.

A Bolton at Home spokesman said: “We are happy to work with local residents and councillors to investigate this. We would look into the issues raised and take action if needed, as well as working alongside the police if there is illegal activity taking place.”
