THE Brexit Party has announced it will not be contest the forthcoming Church Ward by-election for Bury Council.
The poll on December 12 follows the sudden death in September of Cllr Susan Nuttall, wife of former Conservative MP David.
A spokesman for Bury’s Brexit Party said that while the Party “ We will contest council seats next May they are not contesting the by-election on December 12.
“This is in order to show respect to the hard work and dedication of Cllr Susan Nuttall, who has sadly passed away.
“She served her constituents honourably, respectfully and admirably as a councillor.”
