A GENEROUS couple have donated more than 400 selection boxes to the Children's Adventure Farm Trust to help disadvantage children have a memorable Christmas.

Chris and Tracey Harrison dropped off 426 selection boxes at Warrington Fire Station on Saturday.

Last year, the Orford couple donated 170 selection boxes after asking guests at their 30th wedding anniversary party not to buy them presents.

Instead, they asked guests to donate boxes for the appeal.

After last year's success, Chris decided he wanted to collect even more.

He pushed a lawnmower for five miles on November 9 and asked for donations of selection boxes from his family and friends.

Chris would like to thank The Albion Pub and Gardenia Gardens for the use of the lawn mower.

The charity, based just outside of Lymm, will provide a magical Christmas Party experience this year for around 1,600 children from all over the north west.

These children have a range of personal challenges, including those with terminal illnesses, disabilities and social disadvantages which make it difficult for them to enjoy the festive season as all children should.

With the help of their supporters, the charity will provide 43 parties, including four parties each for 150 children, starting on Monday.

Each child will be given a bag full of gifts to take away with them, which includes a selection box, which is why the charity is appealing to Warrington Guardian readers for help.

Lymm and Birchwood Fire Stations have also joined the appeal as drop off points and join the following locations:
