A man was taken to hospital with head injuries overnight after losing control of his car and crashing in Lostock.
The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Old Hall Lane, when frost had begun to form on roads and pavements following a chilly night.
The man crashed into what the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) described as "wasteland" after he went off the road.
A GMFRS spokesman added that bad weather had caused the crash, with conditions particularly "frosty" last night.
The man was then taken to Salford Royal with head injuries, while fire crews remained at the scene for around an hour.
The spokesman added: "Watch for driving conditions and manage your speed in frosty weather."
