A MAN who failed to obey a council order to remove stables and barn buildings from land behind Doris Avenue, Bolton, has been fined £2,000 by Bolton magistrates.
Ernest Bancroft, aged 59, of Doris Avenue, Bolton, was issued with the enforcement notice by the council in August 2016 requiring him to remove the buildings plus debris and building materials.
But the court heard that between June 2017 and October 9 this year, he did not comply with the order.
Bancroft pleaded guilty and, as well as the fine, was ordered to pay council prosecution costs of £896 and a £170 victim surcharge.
