MANCHESTER music icon Liam Gallagher has confirmed he will play a huge outdoor show in the city's Heaton Park in Summer 2020.

The former Oasis frontman will play his hometown on Friday, June 12, 2020, with tickets going on general sale on Friday, November 29.

The announcement comes following the 47-year-old's recently sold-out tour of UK arenas in support of his second solo album Why Me? Why Not.

His debut solo album As You Were, which was released in October 2017, proved to be a critical and commercial success, topping the UK Albums Chart and being certified Platinum. With over 103,000 units sold in its first week it was the ninth fastest-selling debut of the decade in the UK.

Gallagher announced the date to his 3.2m followers on Twitter, saying: "So if you haven’t heard I’m playing HEATON PARK 12th June 2020 I’ll be playing songs from my 2 no 1 solo albums and yes you guessed it some stone cold OASIS classics c’mon you know LG x"

Tickets start from £59.50 and fans can buy them from www.ticketmaster.co.uk on Friday, November 29 from 10am.
