AMBITIOUS young people enjoyed a taste of life at one of the world's top universities.
Hazel Wood High School's Year 10 pupils took part in a taster day at Cambridge University.
They toured the grounds and facilities of St John's College and spoke to students there.
The 30 students experienced lecture — on the genetics of butterflies in the Amazon Rainforest by Professor of evolutionary biology and fellow of the royal entomology society, Chris Jiggins.
Lynda Jones from the school said: "All of the students were made aware of the high academic standards required at such an institution and this left them motivated to aspire to secure a place at Cambridge."
