I work as a consultant at Fairfield General Hospital.

The problems with car parking here have now reached the point where every day from Monday to Friday both patients and staff are frequently unable to get to appointments. The waste of resources and of people's time is disgraceful.

Unfortunately, while there is a good argument for ending parking charges, this will not solve the congestion.

The bus routes serving the hospital are clearly not adequate, and in my experience you can't even use Rosso tickets on a First service or vice versa.

If things are going to improve it will need a concerted effort from Pennine Acute and Pennine Care NHS Trusts, Bury MBC, local MPs, FirstBus, Rosso, Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership and maybe even Andy Burnham.

Time for action please.
