----------------------------
A NINE-MILE stretch of the A36 has been shut in both directions after a tree fell on the road.
The 'temporary' closure at the road's section between Brickworth and the Ower roundabout was announced by Highways England earlier this afternoon, but remains in place while contractors deal with the tree's removal.
A diversion route has been put in place eastbound via the A27 and A3090 and westbound via the A3090 and A27.
As a result, traffic is building around the area.
#A36 #WestWellow – Due to a fallen tree we have had to temporarily close the carriageway in both directions. The diversion route Eastbound is via the #A27 and #A3090 and Westbound is #A3090 and #A27. Contractors are at scene dealing. Updates to follow.
