NEW year, new you, new friends?

If the answer is yes, then Breightmet Library is launching the popular Reading Friends scheme.

It is a chance for people to bond and meet new friends through their love of reading by simply sharing stories.

The group meets the first Thursday of the month from 2pm to 3pm, starting next month.

Reading Friends is a national initiative co-ordinated by The Reading Agency and funded by The National Lottery and Arts Council England.

It was launched by The Reading Agency in 2017 in a bid to connect people socially and as a result helps to tackle loneliness in the community and reach out to groups that could be considered isolated.

The Reading Friends scheme in Breightmet is one of a number running in Bolton's libraries.
