A HELICOPTER pilot has been fined £1,600 after he flew within the Blackpool aerodrome area without obtaining information from the air traffic control to enable the flight to be conducted safely. At Manchester Magistrates' Court Joel Tobias, aged 52, of Heythrop Close, Whitefield, pleaded guilty to committing the offence in a prosecution brought by the Civil Aviation Authority. In addition to the fine he was ordered to pay £870 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have fined a teenager £40 and ordered him to do 25 days of rehabilitation activities after he assaulted a woman in Bury on November 22 last year. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Henry Doyle, aged 19, of Fieldhead Avenue, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offence. In addition to the fine Doyle was ordered to pay £175 in costs and charges.

A MOTORIST has been fined £70 for not having proper control of a Skoda Octavia he was driving on Radcliffe Road, Bury, on April 6 last year. Muhammed Ajmal, aged 31, of Parsonage Street, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offence when he appeared before Manchester magistrates. Three penalty points were added to his licence and he was ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge.

A MOTORIST who was caught driving a Jaguar car without insurance has been fined £735 by Manchester magistrates. Razvan Andreescu, aged 32, of Scholes Walk, Prestwich, had denied committing the offence when he drove the vehicle on Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester, on February 23, but the case against him was proved in his absence. In addition to the fine, six points were added to Andreescu’s licence and he was ordered to pay £423 in costs and charges.

A MAN has been fined £165 after he was caught using an unlicensed Vauxhall Vectra in Birmingham on April 12 last year. At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Dean Rawlins, aged 45, of St Pauls Street, Ramsbottom, pleaded guilty to committing the offence. In addition to the fine, Rawlins was ordered to pay £181.25 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have ordered that a man be electronically tagged after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a man and stealing perfume and clothing worth £68 from Next in Bury on December 16. Jamie Hodgson, aged 30, of Kestrel Drive, Bury, was sentenced to a 7pm to 7am curfew for a month and was ordered to have treatment for drug addiction for six months. He was also ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge.

A DRUG driver has been banned from the roads for three years by Manchester magistrates. Amer Mahmood, aged 31, of Agecroft Road East, Prestwich pleaded guilty to driving a Toyota Yaris on Sheepfoot Lane, Prestwich on August 26 last year after using cannabis. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £117 in costs and charges.

A WOMAN who illegally used a disabled person's blue parking badge has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months by Manchester magistrates. Nicola Crossman, aged 58, of Far Hey Close, Radcliffe, pleaded guilty to committing the offence was also ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.
