ROYALTY will be coming to a town in Oxfordshire next week.

The Duchess of Cornwall will visit the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) in  Banbury on Wednesday.

She will be greeted by the Mayor of Banbury, Councillor John Colegrave before taking a short walk to the Cornhill Centre which is where the voluntary group meet.

The RVS is one of the largest volunteering organisations in the country and HRH Camilla has been President of the RVS since December 2012. 

On Wednesday, she will meet CEO of the RVS, Catherine Johnstone, who will introduce The Duchess to the centre’s staff and volunteer groups, including their youngest volunteers.

The Duchess will also meet a representative from The People’s Postcode Lottery and learn of the invaluable funding the centre receives from them.

An international dance class is one of the activities held at the centre by volunteer teachers, Avis Gallager and Joan Sprittlehouse and HRH Camilla will be invited to join in during her visit.

When she leaves, she will pass the adjacent garden which will soon evolve into the ‘Banbury as an Age Friendly Town’ (BAFT) Project Garden and accept an Age Friendly Brooch.
